Professional Food Photographer
A little bit about me…
It all started over 20 years ago when a friend lent me their old film SLR camera on a holiday in Cadiz, little did I know the impact it would have on me…
I spent several years just shooting whatever took my fancy before cutting my teeth (so to speak) in the professional side of photography, shooting portraits of kids and families. I then progressed into corporate and event photography before discovering just how much I like shooting food.
I knew I really wanted to specialize in food, while working alongside a Film production team shooting cookery videos with Marco Pierre White.
I was tasked with shooting stills and behind the scenes images, and at the time wasn’t ready or experienced enough to take on the hero shots of the finished dishes.
I was however fascinated by the attention to detail, the art behind the presentation and the complexity/simplicity of different lighting techniques, so I spent any spare time I had chatting with the main photographer to pick up tips and advice…
Fast forward around 9 years and I’m based in Milton Keynes with my family who, bless them, have to spend many an afternoon trawling Car boot sales, Antique Fayres and Charity shops in search of the perfect new prop.
My love of food photography has had me travelling all over the UK from the likes of Newcastle to Cornwall (Sorry Nathan Outlaw, you didn’t convince me to like fish!).
I continue to have the pleasure shooting for many Household brands, Food Manufacturers, Restaurants, Chefs and anyone who wants food images that make you think “I want to eat that, right now”!
I really do love what I do!
